General Pervez Ashfaq Kayani was not be present at the President Asif Zardari hosted dinner in the honour of Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo on Saturday night, source reported.
According to details, President Asif Ali Zardari conferred Hilal-i-Pakistan award on Dai Bingguo, State Councillor of China, at a special investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Saturday.
The ceremony was attended among others by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Senate Chairman Farooq H Naik, Speaker of the National Assembly Fehmida Mirza, Azad Kashmir President Sardar Yaqub, federal ministers, Senators, Services Chiefs, members of the National Assembly, federal secretaries and other dignitaries.
Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani did not attend the dinner. Gen. Kayani had also stayed away from the dinner hosted by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday.
On the other hand, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman and Naval Chief Asif Sandila join the dinner.
