A national Sports Security Task Force (SSTF) will be formed at the government level to pave way for the visits of international teams to the country, Minister for Interior Rehman Malik announced on Tuesday.
He said the force would be tasked with ensuring security of foreign teams, adding that sports activities were necessary for providing entertainment to the people.
He called it a good omen that the Indian authorities have allowed their blind cricket team to visit Pakistan to play matches.
The minister was addressing the prize distribution ceremony here at Shalimar Cricket Ground where Pakistan's blind cricket team won the first match of the three-match series against India.
Rehman Malik said the visit of Indian blind cricket team to Pakistan is a positive development which would help strengthen relations between the two countries in future.
Appreciating the performance of Pakistan blind cricket team, he said, they have won laurels for the country on numerous international occasions. The Interior Minister Rehman Malik said he would arrange reception for Pakistan and Indian Blind teams very soon.
